College Outreach USA

Mission Statement

College Outreach USA (COUSA) is dedicated to identifying qualified students, during their early years in middle and high school, who are from: a Minority group; and/or an Inner city; and/or a Low income family (MIL). Our goal is preparing, and ultimately having our students admitted to college. We provide information and services to these students at no charge.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

- Nelson Mandela

Minority inner city low-income students continue to be under-represented in four-year colleges and universities.

The reasons for this include inadequate guidance resources in their high school, false assumptions by students or families that they are prevented from attending college for financial reasons, the stigma that colleges represent a wealthy social system in which minority students will not fit.

College Outreach USA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation founded in 2011, reinstated in 2017. We are dedicated to identifying qualified students in minority inner city low-income families. We seek out students during their early years in middle and high school, and connect students to advisors for mentoring, preparing, and college admission, all with no charge to students.

Our ongoing objectives are to work co-operatively with high school administrators, organizations, and people that support educational opportunity for minority inner city low income youth; develop a working relationship with students, their parents, counselors, administrators; and to bring colleges together to help enroll more minority inner city low income students.

Our goal is to increase the number of these students applying to and enrolling in United States colleges and universities.

To facilitate this goal, College Outreach USA provides both guidance and college placement information to high school students. We create small victories by focusing on specific urban areas one at a time. Low income inner city minority students who do not consider college a possibility discover that they CAN attend college, and students who already plan to attend college will be empowered by knowing HOW to prepare and apply.

Our unique approach comes from the fact that our in-person seminars, webinars, and virtual high school visits are conducted by our Deans and Directors of Admission, their staff members, college alumnus/ae, as well as high school and independent guidance counselors aligned with College Outreach USA. Each in-person seminar, webinar and virtual high school visit is conducted by a college staff member and run by College Outreach USA staff and/or our Board Chair and Founder, Anthony F. Capraro III.
