College Outreach USA

College Outreach USA (COUSA) is dedicated to identifying qualified students, in grades 7 through 12, who are from: a Minority group; and/or an Inner city; and/or a Low to middle income family (MIL). Our goal is assisting and ultimately having our COUSA students admitted to college.

We accomplish our goal in several ways:

  • COUSA member colleges each write an article presenting information about their college. Professional educators write insightful articles about the financial aid process, as well as articles pertaining to the college process. Our educational professionals stay in touch with our students through email, the bulletin board, timely articles, and more.
  • The COUSA staff, our member colleges, their alumni, respected high school guidance counselors, and community leaders conduct in-person seminars, webinars, virtual high school visits by each COUSA college, for each MIL student and his/her respective family.
  • Through the COUSA website professionals offer specific information on topics like, the college essay, financial aid, required testing, as well as articles from role models who cheer on our MIL students with examples of how college has made them who they are today. Additionally, each COUSA member college provides links to the college’s website to further specific information to help each student be more insightful about the college.
  • Each mentor goes through a background check. If they pass, they are presented with information as to how they can help each student be successful in his/her personal life, as well as academically, and especially in the college process. Through these methods, our MIL students discover that they CAN attend college, and those who already planned to attend college are empowered by knowing HOW to prepare and apply.

It is important to note that all our services are free of charge to each MIL COUSA student, his/her family, adults aligned to the student, as well as faculty and administrators from the COUSA student’s school. Once these students have completed college, it is our hope that they will go back to their community, or find another community, where they will become a COUSA mentor and help other MIL students go to college and achieve success.

We do not sell, rent, or share your name and personal information with anyone EXCEPT our consortium of colleges.
